To comply with today's stringent vehicle regulations, CPC
develop every product to comply with complex specifications. This
requires the validation testing to various environmental and structural
conditions. Therefore, CPC have various test facilities in-house
including:
- Environmental Chamber: This chamber can conduct both
temperature and humidity varibles. Temperature limits are between
-40degC and 140degC. Humidity levels are capable up to 95%
RH. The chamber is fully programmable to run any permitation of
the above variants for any set duration. This allows for accurate
replication of environmental conditions witnessed in the field.
- Motion simulator: This rig provides 6-axis movement
allowing complete freedom of movement. This is used to simulate
the dynamic environment of the vehicle. A sample application has
been to get vehicle data using an accelerometer and transferring this
data through a PC interface to the simulator. A complete fuel
tank system including the relevant fuel valves were then subjected to
the replicated vehicle movement. This allows back-to-back tests
to be done without requiring time consuming and expensive in-vehicle
tests.
- Dust Chamber: Another important consideration in Australian
conditions is the effect of dust on vehicle components, in particular
the contamination of the fuel.
